The history
The roots of Sardinia date back to the second millennium BC; the first megalithic structures date back to 1800 AC: they are called “Nuraghi”, which have the characteristic of overwhelm the surrounding territory.
The most visited archaeological site in Sardinia is “Su Nuraxi”, in Barumini. On the inner territories there are several archaeological sites with holy wells, nuragical temples
(Tomb of the Giants), castles from the Middle Ages and the “Giara di Gesturi”, where live the typical and unique horses with almond eyes.
On the coast of Oristano we can find the archaeological site called “Tharros”, surprising Phoenician settlement placed on the sheltered side of a strip of land overhelmed by a lookout tower. It could be an extraordinary experience to swim surrounded by ancient ruins.
